A Midnight Dance
By Joanna Davidson Politano
The last day of our week-long Author Spotlight of Joanna Davidson Politano. I am so happy to share with you my review of her newest book, A Midnight Dance, which will be released on September 7.
A Midnight
Dance follows the story of Ella Blythe as she tries to navigate the world of
ballet. Ella’s entrance into ballet is
different from most and she has to work hard to maintain her place in the
company. Will she ever get to dance with
Philippe again? And will her reputation
stand with a man like Jack around?
Throughout each of her books I have fallen completely in love
with the main characters and A Midnight Dance is no exception. Her characters are so complex, yet so
relatable. Even though I’ve never been a
ballerina (nor will I ever be one) I definitely related to Ella and I think
many people will if they have ever felt as though they weren’t enough.
I love Joanna’s approach to Christian fiction. While
some Christian authors insert a prayer here or there, a verse of the Bible or a
few mentions of God, she takes the opportunity to weave God all throughout her
stories and I love the lessons that her characters are learning, not only about
God, but often about themselves. Chapter
by chapter the beautiful layers are peeled back and the results are surprising.
If you are the type of person to take a sneak peek at the
ending you don’t want to do that with this one!
Read the entire book and then once you reach the end go back and read it
again, watching for all the little clues and nuances. If you think it’s great the first time, you
will love it even more the second time.
Honestly, there is so much I could write about this
book and so much that I want to tell you, but I don’t want to give away
any clues. You will have to get the book
and read it because it is that good.
If I could give her more stars I would. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
(P.S. There is also a sneak peek at the end of an upcoming
book and I was already hooked!)
Thank you Joanna Davidson Politano and Revell Books for an ARC book.
